[Industry Alpha x Yamanashi Prefecture] Industry Alpha has been selected for Yamanashi Prefecture’s TRY!YAMANASHI! Demonstration Experiment Support Project and is promoting DX in factories and warehouses in Yamanashi Prefecture
Industry Alpha, which contributes to the automation of factories and warehouses, has been selected for a subsidized project by Yamanashi Prefecture and is accelerating its business in the prefecture.
Industry Alpha Inc. (Head office: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takumi Watanabe; hereinafter referred to as “Industry Alpha”), which develops and introduces low-floor AMRs and other initiatives to make factories and warehouses smarter, has been selected for the “6th TRY! YAMANASHI! Demonstration Experiment Support Project” conducted by Yamanashi Prefecture (Governor: Kotaro Nagasaki), which will provide full support for a demonstration experiment covering the entire Yamanashi prefecture, and will contribute to further automation in Yamanashi prefecture’s manufacturing and logistics industries.
Details of the initiative
Industry Alpha has been contributing to the smartification of the manufacturing and logistics industries by utilizing solutions such as AMR (autonomous mobile robots) and optimization algorithms. As concerns grow over the decline in the working population across Japan, the need for automation in factories and warehouses is growing day by day. In Yamanashi Prefecture, there are concerns about the future of securing labor for the manufacturing industry, which is a core industry, and this led to the matching of Industry Alpha with Yamanashi Prefecture.
Yamanashi Prefecture is running the “TRY! YAMANASHI! Demonstration Experiment Support Project,” which accompanies start-up companies with cutting-edge technologies and services and provides full support for demonstration experiments throughout the prefecture, and this year marks the sixth year of the project. This time, four companies, including Industry Alpha, were selected from a total of 39 applicants, and will conduct demonstration experiments in Yamanashi Prefecture as a test bed.
The theme of this Industry Alpha demonstration experiment is “AMR (autonomous mobile robot) x image recognition.” By utilizing a third-party camera (such as a security camera mounted on the ceiling), information on people coming and going in areas that are blocked by walls and other obstacles and the position and posture information of the cargo to be transported will be obtained, enabling more flexible and efficient operation of AMRs. Operations such as the AMR slowing down in advance when it predicts a person coming out of a blind spot, and the AMR automatically docking with cargo that has been left randomly will be demonstrated at actual manufacturing and logistics sites.
Industry Alpha×Local government
Industry Alpha is strengthening collaboration with local governments in various contexts, including this project. The company has been selected for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s startup support program that utilizes next-generation communications technology, and is working on initiatives such as “Factory and warehouse digital transformation x local 5G.” It is also working on business co-creation through matching with Aichi Prefecture companies in AICHI MATCHING, an event hosted by Aichi Prefecture.
We will continue to actively cooperate with local governments to contribute to further automation of factories and warehouses. We will continue to contribute to the automation of manufacturing and logistics industries in local governments that are suffering from labor shortages by utilizing resources such as the local government’s network with local companies and knowledge of problems from the administrative perspective.
