[Industry Alpha × Yamanashi Prefecture] Industry Alpha Selected for Yamanashi Prefecture’s TRY! YAMANASHI! Demonstration Experiment Support Project to Promote DX in Factories and Warehouses

Industry Alpha, contributing to the automation of factories and warehouses, has been selected for Yamanashi Prefecture’s subsidy program, accelerating its business activities in the region.
Industry Alpha Inc. (Head Office: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takumi Watanabe), which develops and deploys low-profile AMRs as part of its smart factory and warehouse initiatives, has been chosen for the 6th term of Yamanashi Prefecture’s “TRY! YAMANASHI! Demonstration Experiment Support Project,” which fully supports demonstration experiments throughout the prefecture. This selection will contribute to further automation in Yamanashi’s manufacturing and logistics industries.
Initiative Details
Industry Alpha has contributed to smartifying manufacturing and logistics industries by utilizing solutions such as AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) and optimization algorithms. As labor shortages become a growing concern nationwide in Japan, the demand for factory and warehouse automation is steadily increasing. In Yamanashi Prefecture, securing labor for its core manufacturing industry is also viewed as a future challenge, leading to the collaboration between Industry Alpha and Yamanashi Prefecture.
Yamanashi Prefecture operates the “TRY! YAMANASHI! Demonstration Experiment Support Project,” now in its sixth term, which fully supports startups and companies with advanced technologies and services in conducting demonstration experiments across the prefecture. Among 39 applicants, four companies—including Industry Alpha—were selected to carry out demonstration experiments using Yamanashi as a testbed.
Industry Alpha’s demonstration experiment focuses on “AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) × Image Recognition.” By leveraging third-party perspective cameras (such as ceiling-mounted security cameras), the system acquires information on human movement in areas blocked from the AMR’s line of sight (blind spots) as well as the position and orientation of transported items. This enables more flexible and efficient AMR operations. The experiment will validate real-world operations such as preemptive AMR deceleration when humans suddenly appear from blind spots and automatic docking of AMRs to randomly placed items in manufacturing and logistics environments.
Industry Alpha × Local Governments
Beyond this project, Industry Alpha is actively strengthening collaborations with local governments in various contexts. For example, it was selected for Tokyo’s next-generation communication technology startup support program, working on initiatives such as “Factory & Warehouse DX × Local 5G.” Additionally, through Aichi Prefecture’s AICHI MATCHING program, the company engages in business co-creation by matching with local enterprises.
To further contribute to factory and warehouse automation, Industry Alpha will continue proactive collaboration with local governments. By leveraging local governments’ resources, such as networks with regional companies and insights into administrative challenges, the company aims to support automation in manufacturing and logistics industries facing labor shortages throughout Japan.
