Overview
Industry Alpha Inc. (Head Office: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takumi Watanabe; hereinafter “Industry Alpha”), which develops smart factory and warehouse solutions, is rebranding its self-developed low-profile AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) “Kaghelo” under the new brand name “Kagero.”
“Kagero” is a new product line that inherits the development expertise and implementation track record cultivated through the existing Kaghelo series, while being renewed in both hardware and software. Looking ahead, in addition to the Japanese domestic market, Industry Alpha aims for further growth as a Japan-origin product with expansion into overseas markets, including Asia and Europe.
Please note that the trademark for “Kagero” has already been filed, but is still under examination as of now.
Background of the Rebranding
The name “Kaghelo” has been used since the AMR first developed by our company. However, the current model has significantly evolved from that time, developing into a completely new product with fundamentally different hardware and software design concepts. Therefore, in view of the product’s evolution and overseas expansion, we have rebranded it as “Kagero,” a simple yet powerful name that can be accepted globally.
At the same time, the sound “Kagero” (ka-ge-ro) will continue to be inherited, as we value the history and brand identity that have been built together with our customers and our team.
Positioning and Features of Kagero
“Kagero” has been highly regarded as a low-profile AMR suitable for operation in narrow aisles and limited spaces, which are characteristic of Japanese manufacturing sites.
Moreover, its adoption is increasingly seen not only for simple transport automation but also as a starting point for automating entire factories and warehouses, contributing to the smartification of the manufacturing and logistics industries.
The main features are as follows:
- Low-profile design compatible with narrow spaces and cage carts
- Payload models of 500 kg and 1,000 kg (a 1,200 kg model will be released soon)
- Redundant design prioritizing on-site safety
- Support for multiple communication methods to accommodate diverse environments
- Coordinated fleet control and scalability through integration with our proprietary FMS (Fleet Management System)
Future Plans
Industry Alpha will accelerate the deployment of Kagero across domestic and international manufacturing and logistics sites. We will provide our evolved AMR to domestic customers more than ever before. Furthermore, in overseas markets, we aim to establish deployment models through PoCs (Proof of Concept) with local partners, looking at the potential of Kagero as a Japan-origin AMR in global markets.
Amid the recent increase of overseas-made and OEM AMRs, Industry Alpha, as a fully Japanese robot development company, will leverage the strengths of in-house development to advance Japan-origin technology to the next stage.
