Overview

Industry Alpha Inc. (Headquarters: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takumi Watanabe; hereinafter “Industry Alpha”), which develops smart factory and warehouse solutions, is pleased to announce that on August 1, 2025, its project “Republic of Singapore, Malaysia, Kingdom of Thailand / Feasibility Study for the Deployment of Transport Robot Management Systems in Factories and Warehouses” was selected for the FY2024 Supplemental Budget of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry: Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project for the Global South (Subsidy for Small-Scale Demonstration and Feasibility Study Projects).

The selected project aims to promote DX in manufacturing and logistics sites across ASEAN through the deployment of transport robot management systems (FMS).

Background of the Project

In Southeast Asian countries, digital transformation (DX) in manufacturing and logistics sites has become an urgent challenge, drawing increasing attention to initiatives for smart factories and warehouses.

At the same time, the progress of DX in this field remains at an early stage, with only a limited number of players currently active.

The reliability of Industry Alpha’s transport robot management system, “Alpha-FMS,” cultivated in the Japanese market, has earned high recognition not only domestically but also in Global South countries.

Leveraging this technological advantage, Industry Alpha views this as a prime opportunity to establish a de facto standard.

This subsidized project is indispensable for lowering the barriers to initial investment for solving local challenges and capturing market opportunities. It aims to contribute to the industrial development of Southeast Asia while enhancing the global presence of Japan-originated technology in the smart factory domain.

Comment from President & CEO Watanabe

I am truly honored and humbled that our project has been selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “FY2024 Supplemental Budget: Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project for the Global South (Subsidy for Small-Scale Demonstration and Feasibility Study Projects).” I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this wonderful opportunity.

Our transport robot management system, “Alpha-FMS,” is characterized by its high scalability and connectivity, enabling integrated management of transport robots (AMRs) from multiple manufacturers as well as peripheral equipment. It has already established a solid track record in Japan. With this selection, we will conduct thorough research and verification to adapt Japan’s advanced technology to the Southeast Asian market, thereby contributing to the region’s industrial development.

Project Objectives of the Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project for the Global South (Subsidy for Small-Scale Demonstration and Feasibility Study Projects)

The objective of the Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project for the Global South (Subsidy for Small-Scale Demonstration and Feasibility Study Projects) is to support Japanese companies in conducting feasibility studies (hereinafter “FS projects”) and small-scale demonstration projects (hereinafter “demonstration projects”) for overseas deployment of infrastructure and other initiatives. By addressing the challenges faced by Global South countries and leveraging the growth potential of these markets, the program aims to ensure Japan’s economic security (including strengthening supply chains), stimulate domestic industrial innovation, and strengthen economic collaboration with Global South countries.
