Achieving automation of heavy load transportation and improvements in safety and efficiency

Overview
Industry Alpha Inc. (Head Office: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takumi Watanabe; hereinafter “Industry Alpha”), which develops smart factory and warehouse solutions, is pleased to announce the release of its new model, “Kagero1200”, an advanced evolution of its previously offered 1000kg payload AMR.
Kagero1200 is the latest heavy-duty model in the company’s in-house developed low-profile AMR “Kagero” series, boasting a maximum transport capacity of 1200kg.
Background
In the manufacturing and logistics industries, in addition to the worsening labor shortage, the growing diversity of products and expansion of production scales have led to an increasing demand for automated heavy load transportation year by year. Traditionally carried out by forklifts or manual labor, heavy load transport has long faced major challenges in ensuring safety and improving efficiency.
To address these social issues, Industry Alpha has been working to strengthen its heavy-duty models based on proven results in real-world operations. The outcome of these efforts is the launch of the new “Kagero1200.”
Key Updates
In the “Kagero1200”, the following improvements have been implemented to achieve higher reliability and operability:
- Enhanced stability through a larger top plate
- Increased resistance to impacts from below, such as bumps and steps
- Improved driving accuracy with self-positioning enabled by 3D LiDAR
- Improved maintainability through a reduced number of components and added protective functions
Dimensions: W 800mm × D 960mm × H 210mm

Use Cases
Our heavy-duty model (with 1000kg capacity) has been adopted by a major automotive parts manufacturer, where it has been successfully used to efficiently transport specialized carts. This achievement also served as part of the development background for “Kagero1200.”
In this environment, conventional heavy load transport involved overlapping areas of forklift operations and manual cart handling, which posed significant challenges in terms of both safety and efficiency.

Benefits of AMR Implementation
Workforce Reduction
With the introduction of AMRs, forklift operators can focus solely on loading and unloading tasks, while the transport of carts in preceding and subsequent processes is automated. As a result, up to four personnel have been reduced.
Improved Safety
In environments where forklifts and people intersect, AMRs implement speed control according to load presence and operating areas. Additionally, safety is ensured through auditory and visual alerts.
Future Developments
In addition to the new “Kagero1200”, Industry Alpha’s robotics business plans to offer smaller models and AMR solutions integrated with robotic arms. As before, through solutions such as FMS and WCS, we will continue to provide comprehensive solutions that enable smartification of entire factories and warehouses, extending beyond just the transport process.
